Table Mountain is without a doubt one of Cape Town’s most iconic landmarks. This flat-topped mountain looms large over the city, and can be seen from just about anywhere. Table Mountain is a natural wonder that should not be missed if you’re visiting Cape Town.
Getting To Table Mountain
There are a few different ways to get up to the top of Table Mountain. You can take the cable car, hike up, or drive up. The cable car is definitely the easiest way to get to the top, and it’s a fun ride too.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can hike up. The hike takes about 2-3 hours, and it’s definitely worth it when you reach the top.
If you’re not up for a hike, you can always drive up. The drive takes about 30 minutes, and it’s a scenic route. You’ll get to see some of the best views of Cape Town along the way.
What To Do At The Top
Once you reach the top of Table Mountain, you’ll have plenty to do. There are a few different hiking trails, and it’s a great place to go for a walk or a picnic. You can also visit the cafe for a bite to eat and some hot chocolate or coffee.
There’s also a restaurant at the top of the mountain, so you can grab something more substantial if you want. If you’re not keen on hiking down, there are always taxis waiting at the top.
Be sure to pack your camera! Table Mountain is one of those places that’s just perfect for photographs.
Table Mountain’s View
Once you’re at the top of Table Mountain, you’ll be rewarded with amazing views of Cape Town and the surrounding areas. You’ll also have access to a variety of hiking trails, rock climbing opportunities, and natural wonders.
The top of Table Mountain is over 1000 meters above sea level. Because it’s at the same height as Cape Town, you’ll be able to enjoy all four seasons there. If you’re visiting during the summer (which I definitely recommend), don’t forget your sunscreen! The summit can get fairly hot during the summer months.
Table Mountain is definitely a place you should see if you’re planning a trip to South Africa. It’s an iconic landmark that can’t be missed, and it will leave you with memories of pristine natural beauty for years after your visit.
